This short Rwanda gorilla tour rewards you with more than just the mountain gorillas but also other inhabitants of the Volcanoes National Park such as the Golden monkeys, Olive baboons, and L’Hoests monkeys and several bird species.

Day 1: Gorilla Tracking in Volcanoes National Park

After your early morning breakfast, you will be picked by our representative at 4:30am who will be your driver/guide throughout the trip.  You will set off for a 3 hours’ journey to Volcanoes National Park in the northern parts of Rwanda. Enjoy the beautiful scenery of the hilly countryside that explains why Rwanda is referred to as the land of a thousand hills and arrive at the Park Headquarters at 7:00 am for briefing and registration. Later drive to the starting point at 8:00 am and start the trek that will be led by park rangers and escorted by armed escorts. Tracking the mountain Gorillas may last from 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on the movement and location of the gorilla family.  On finding them, you will spend one full hour with them enjoying their unique behavior and taking photos of them playing or resting and feeding on leaves. You will later return for lunch and drive back to Kigali to catch up with your flight or to the Hotel in Kigali (at your own cost).
