The 15 days Rwanda Uganda tour takes you to all the major safari destination in these two countries, the major highlights of this trip include a gorilla encounter, Rwanda’s canopy walk, Uganda cultural excursion and a spectacular game viewing experience.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Nyungwe Forest

Upon your arrival, you will be welcomed by our representative who will be your tour guide for the entire trip and take you for a city tour in and around Kigali to explore the beauty of this small country with a thousand hills. You will later drive to Nyungwe forest for your dinner and overnight. Nyungwe top view Hill Hotel

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking

After your breakfast, you will transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park headquarters for briefing and chimpanzee trekking in the forest. You can as well go for the adventurous canopy walk that involves walking from one end on top of the forest enjoying the aerial view of the forest for several primates. Return to the lodge for dinner overnight at Nyungwe Top View Hotel.

Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

After your breakfast, you will leave Nyungwe Forest and head northwards to Volcanoes National Park the home of mountain gorillas and golden monkeys arriving in the late afternoon. Relax at Lebambou Gorilla Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Golden monkey tracking

Early morning after a tasty breakfast at the lodge drive to the park headquarters for briefing on the guidelines for golden monkey tracking. You will then head into the forest to search for the shy golden monkeys. On finding the habituated group of golden monkeys, guests are allowed to spend one full hour in their presence watching and learning their conduct as they take pictures.  Have lunch at the lodge and later relax from the tiresome but exciting activity. Dinner and overnight stay at Lebambou Gorilla Lodge.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi for Gorilla Tracking

After breakfast in the morning, set off for a 3 hours’ drive with your packed lunch crossing to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda through Chanika border at 4:00am to catch up with briefing for Gorilla tracking at the Park headquarters. You will then hit the steeply forested landscape of Bwindi forest in search for the mountain Gorilla. this activity may take 30 minutes up to 6 hours since the location of the habituated gorilla families depends on their movement in search for food. You will be allowed to spend one full hour with the Gorillas as you interact with them and taking memorable pictures. Return to the lodge, chat away the evening. Dinner and night stay at Bakiga Lodge.

Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will depart this morning for Queen Elizabeth National Park, be prepared for some incredible scenery along the way. You will arrive in Lunch time at the lodge and head for game drive in the plains of Kasenyi in search for savannah wildlife including herds of buffaloes, elephants, antelopes and on a lucky day the big cats such as lions and leopard are seen. Dinner and night stay at Elephant Hab Lodge.

Day 7: Morning Game drive and boat on Kazinga Channel.

Head to back to the plains of Kasenyi for a morning game drive to catch up with the animals you could have missed the previous day. Lunch will be served at the lodge and later head to kazinga channel for a boat cruise. Watch out for animals like the hippos, elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles water birds and many other wildlife which come to the channel to cool off the hot weather drinking water. Dinner and night stay at Elephant Hab Lodge.

Day 8: Morning game drive and transfer to Kibale National Park

After an early delicious breakfast, you will drive to the north of Queen Elizabeth National Park in search for the wild animals like Elephants, Buffalos, and the cats, antelopes such water buck Uganda kobs and many different Savanna birds among others. After your nice lunch, you will drive to Kibale Forest National Park arriving at your lodge in the evening hours. dinner and night stay at Chimpanzee Forest Guest House.

Day 9: Chimp Tracking

After breakfast at the lodge, you will drive to the park headquarters to join other visitors for briefing and after which you will be taken for chimpanzee tracking, through Kibale Forest National Park. During this walk you will have an opportunity to spot many of the 13 primate species native to this park. After lunch you will head to Bigodi for a swamp walk where you will watch several bird species more primates as you walk through this swamp that belongs to the neighboring community of the park. Dinner and accommodation at Chimpanzee Forest Guest House.

Day 10: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park

Drive to Murchison Falls National Park through small towns, local communities for about 6-7 hours as you enjoy great views of the escarpment arriving late evening. Accommodation and meals at Pakuba Safari Lodge.

Day 11: Morning game drive and boat cruise

After an early morning cup of tea, transfer to the northern section of the park popularly known as Paraa for an early morning game drive for an opportunity to spot the wild game like; giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, hippos, lions and leopards among others. Return to the lodge for a lunch break and proceed to pier for your boat cruise to the bottom of the falls to witness how river Nile squeezes itself through a narrow gorge before exploding out producing an incredible experience of a lifetime. Day 12: To Kampala en route Zziwa Rhino Sanctaury.

Drive to kampala through Masindi town ad proceed to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary in Nakasongola for Rhino tracking before proceeding to Kampala and then head to the guest house for overnight stay. Dinner and night stay at Forest cottages kampala

Day 13: Kampala city tour

You will have a full day in Kampala city vising the different attractions around this city. Some of the places to visit include the Ndere cultural center in Ntinda for a great cultural dances of all tribes in one place and take part if you wish, the museum, Namugongo martyrs where a number of believers were burnt and buried. Another highlight for this city tour will be a visit to the Buganda Kingdom palace in the heart of kampala to learn about their way of life. Dinner and night stay at Forest cottages kampala.

Day14: Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary

Drive from Entebbe town and straight to the pier to enjoy an afternoon boat cruise to Ngamba Island situated 23 kilometers on an island in Lake Victoria. Ngamba Island is where rescued chimps are orphaned, rehabilitated and the fact that they cannot return back to their original habitats, Ngamba island therefore becomes their new home. Proceed to see these orphaned chimpanzees feeding and then return to Entebbe Main Land for your overnight. Be part of the few guests to learn more about chimpanzees and how to protect them. Dinner and might stay at Boma Guest House.

Day 15: Departure

After your breakfast at the lodge you will drive to the airport for your flight details depending on your flight schedule.
