Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park.
You will be picked by your safari guide/driver and drive you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the south western parts of Uganda. You will go through several towns in the countryside of the pearl of Africa. You will have a stop at the Equator crossing and Lunch at Igongo cultural center before proceeding to kabale where Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is located. The journey is a 7-9 hours’ drive depending on the speed you will be moving on. You will arrive in the evening hours to check in to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking Bwindi
After breakfast leave with your lunch packed and head to the park headquarters to be briefed on the dos and don’ts while with mountain gorillas with other guests. You will be allocated gorilla families to track in groups of 8 people. Endeavour to inform your guide about your interests and he will request for the gorilla family of your choice before you start the trek into the forest. Trekking can take from 30 minutes to 8 hours of the day depending on the location and movement of the Gorilla family. You will be allowed one full hour of photography and observing the gorillas as they go about with their daily activities. Look out for the silverback as it watches over the entire family as their leader and mothers as they take care of the young ones. You will then return to the park headquarters for your gorilla tracking certificate and return for dinner and overnight stay Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge.
Day 3: Transfer to Ishasha Queen Elizabeth National Park
After the morning breakfast, you will take a scenic drive from Bwindi Park to Ishasha side in Queen Elizabeth National Park arriving in time for lunch and relaxation at the lodge. You will then head out for a late afternoon game drive in Ishasha in search for the rare tree climbing lions and other wild game on a lucky day. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Parkview Safari Lodge.
Day 4: Morning and afternoon game drives
After breakfast, you will drive to Ishasha sector popular for tree climbing lions for a morning game drive and chances of seeing them climbing depends on your luck of the day. Other animals like large herds of buffaloes, Elephants, Antelopes and many others are seen in this area. You may also choose to drive to River Ishasha to see the border of Uganda and Democratic republic of Congo if time allows. Return to the Lodge for Lunch and later launch an evening game drive in Ishasha to catch up with more game that you could have missed in the morning and also to see again those you would like to see again. Dinner and overnight at Parkview Safari Lodge.
Day 5: Drive to Kampala/Entebbe
We will drive back to Kampala or Entebbe International Airport for your departure. There will be stopovers at Igongo Cultural center for a cultural encounter and at the Equator to buy a few African items (if you wish) and proceed to Kampala arriving in the evening.
